If I could give Chandni's ten stars, I would. I am thrilled that they are now right down the street from me- I was driving to their Cary location for the past 3 years. The ladies are all so friendly, and the threading is always gentle but thorough. Please give them a try- your brows will thank you!
I've been to Chandi's twice now and absolutely love them! Ever since I found out about threading, I haven't been able to go back to waxing! There's less irritation, it's fast, and has pretty darn nice results. I've only gone in for threading, so I can't speak for their other services though.
It's $7 for eyebrows and $3 for your upper lip which is an amazing price (trust me on this...). If you don't know what threading is, it's basically using cotton thread that's twisted up to essentially pluck hair out. So it feels the same as plucking your eyebrows, but much faster. The people at Chandi's are good too, I haven't had to wait for my eyebrows to grow out of a mistake yet. (*fingers crossed*)
Everyone is very friendly and you're in and out in less than 10 minutes! Give it a shot and you'll never wax your eyebrows again.
I am thrilled that Chandni's has opened a location in Durham! I was driving all the way to Cary to get my eyebrows threaded before. The salon is beautiful and they did a fantastic job with my eyebrows (as always). The best part is the price. They only charge $7. If you've never had your eyebrows threaded before, I suggest a visit to Chandni's. They do a great job and you will be happy with the results.
YAAAAAAAAAAAAAY! I've been driving 40 minutes to Chandni's in Cary for years, and they're finally in Durham!!!
Great, cheap, fast, painless threading and wonderful ladies.
Hooray! Chandni's is taking over the Triangle, and Durham has recently fallen to their kingdom of threading. The original threading phenomenon has expanded from its Cary location to Morrisville and -- finally! -- Durham. After trying threading for the first time 9 months ago, I haven't looked back. My brows are so defined, and the process is so natural. I've tried a couple of other Durham-area places, but been disappointed by the cost.
Chandnis is just $7, and the job I had done today was incredibly thorough. Moreso than most places I've been. I had Maru (sp?), and she was just as friendly as she was talented -- making small-talk with me, and checking in to make sure I was okay during the painful parts.
The only reason for withholding a star is that she was the only person working, and there were four girls in front of me. I waited 25 minutes for my turn. I also found the set-up here a bit awkward, since the waiting area chairs face the customer chairs. So I felt sort of creeper-style watching the other girls get groomed. They also charge $1 fee on credit cards, so bring some cash if you can.
LOVE! Can't believe I hadn't thought of it till I was in Cary for a few hours the other day, and since I now have access I'll be dropping by monthly to get my eyebrows done. No need to search in Boston to get perfect eyebrows!
I went to the new Cary location - which is LOVELY - last week. Leah gave me the BEST facial last week -I am still glowing from the effects. The creams are the best, her knowledge and care was outstanding. If you are looking for a reasonably priced way to pamper yourself, CHANDNIS in Cary is the way to go. A+ I'll never go elsewhere!
I have very sensitive skin and waxing always burns my skin. Eyebrow threading is perfect for my skin. I should have discovered Chandnis threading sooner..
Great hospitality, Great Service, Wonderful technique! Thanks for being centrally located in Raleigh near Crabtree valley mall
There is lot of hype in everyday life about about foods, weight, youth, beauty, vitamins.etc, it is refreshing to find someone as skilled, kind, personable and professional as you. Thank you so much for my Shahnaz facial. Not only does my skin look much better, but the first time in years, I'm starting to take better care of my skin and my overall health. Besides giving me a facial, you also gave me great advice on what foods to eat. Being an ethnic person, with both Indian and American roots, it is difficult to find someone as wonderful and professional as you to take care of their skin
I am writing to share with you the true relaxation that I experienced with the Sundari Facial you gave me while I was visiting my daughter in the Cary NC area. This was a present given to me by my daughter. I have had several spa pamperings at resorts I have visited but truly you were great. This was the best birthday present I have received. I will keep coming back for more.
I can't believe I have never written a review about this place!!
I go here pretty often for the upper lip threading. They are very professional, fast and affordable. $3 for my upper lip to be sparkly clean and moustache less??!?! YES PLEASE.
They are also very nice. I pretty much cry everytime I get it done and they do try to hurry up to make the experience less traumatizing.
I've also been here for waxings and it's pretty good. It's cheaper than any of the other places but the ambiance isn't like a real spa. They get it done and you are out. They only use soft wax btw.
I had wonderful service and the people there are so welcoming. They offer very good eyebrow threading, the best I've had in a long time! Also they have great reasonable prices, and I always leave there with a smile on my face. I highly recommend this spa for a friend or family member.
I.Love.Chandni's. When I lived in Miami I drove 45mins to find a place this good for this price. At Chandni's you're always in and out quick, staff is friendly, prices are great and the services are amazing.
Blows my mind that they can give such amazingly sculpted brows in 3mins or less. Go there! You'll love it!
I don't ask for anyone specifically so I'd venture to say I have probably had all the girls at one point and they have all been good.
Great service, great prices, and most of all - - great threading! I recently moved from Chicago and thought I had a great person up there.... wow, Miss B here is SO fast and it's virtually painless. Ok, just a tad- but not bad at all.
I rely on Chandni's to tame my unruly South Asian eyebrows when I'm home in Raleigh. I've tried a few other places for threading, but I found Chandni's does the best job and has the cleanest interior so I've stuck to Chandni's :). If you have never gotten your eyebrows threaded before, it can be a bit painful but it's over very quick (usually takes about 5 minutes). What's even more painful is getting your upper lips threaded! I usually find other ways to get rid of my upper lip hair, but for my eyebrows I rely on others to fix those after trying for years to do it on my own and failing miserably. Thankfully places like Chandni's exist so I don't have to go around with lopsided eyebrows!
I've had a great experience every time I go. The staff is very professional and skilled and friendly, prices are reasonable, and the facility and all the procedures are exceptionally clean.
The part I like most about this is how respectful the staff and owner are to Muslim women, particularly those who wear headcoverings. When they did their renovation a year or so ago, they built a very elegant second wall between the door/waiting area and the service area. I asked the staff why, and they said it was that they had so many Muslim women customers and they wanted to respect their privacy. So respectful!
The salon is women-only, the blinds are always drawn, and there are various full and half walls that keep you covered. I've never felt uncomfortable walking around in the salon between getting things done with my scarf tied loosely.
Highly, highly recommended.
In the same way that I wonder who decided to pop corn kernels...
And who discovered cows could be milked...
I wonder who decided one day to try attacking facial hair with a piece of string.
And it wasn't just curiosity killing the cat(terpillar) brows; it was also the fact that my CLT colleague has perfectly shaped arches, and revealed her secret to me: Threading.
Today, I found myself seated at Chandni's for my very first threading. I'd watched a DIY video, so I had an idea of how the actual threading would commence. But beyond that, wasn't sure what to expect. For first-timers, here's a quick tip: you will be touching your face, and pulling your skin taut for the technician, so make sure your hands are clean before visiting, and that you haven't been chewing on your cuticles (like I embarrassingly have).
The whole process took about 5 minutes, with several passes over each brow, and even the finer surrounding hairs, plus some trimming with the scissors. To me, it seemed more painful than waxing, although Sula did mention my skin was 'very sensitive', so maybe it doesn't feel as tender to other folks. I do like that it's not wasteful. And I have to say my brows do look pretty precise. $7 is also less than half of what I pay for waxing! I might be sold. Chandni's has gotten so popular, they've opened locations in Raleigh and Morrisville... I hope Durham is next!
I second the previous Yelper's praise of the enticing smells of the Indian community shops within this strip mall. Yum! I cannot recommend Chandi's more highly!
So...I'm terrified of letting anything or anyone near my eyebrows because I had a bad experience with a rushed hair stylist and a sharp razor. Nevertheless, I had the most amazing experience at Chandni's Spa and Salon! I walked in as a nervous college student, and I left looking and feeling like a supermodel. The staff were so wonderful and welcoming! My eyebrows looked wonderful, they weren't too thin and they were shaped perfectly. Especially for only $7, I will definitely be going back!
I got my eyebrows threaded at the Cary location for the first time today! It was a great experience, nice staff and affordable.
Just a note to tell you how much I love the new 'improved' me. The treatments for smoothing scars with your microdermabrasion I have made a great improvement in the texture and look of my skin. It was a very painless way to get such excellent results.
1. Fast (I did have appt, so no waiting)
2. Painless
3. Looks great
4. 1/2 price of what I paid in DC & LA for threading
And--since I'm new to NC, I'm very excited to check out the Indian and other businesses located in this strip mall. I wouldn't have come by here for any other reason--and next time, I'll come prepared to pick up lunch/ dinner. The smell of Indian spices and cooking engulfed me as soon as I got out of the car. Nice bonus.
Excellent. I took my sister here to get her eyebrows shaped. She did an amazing job and only $10 for a huge shaping. I paid $7 to have mine cleaned up. Definitely will be going back.
Went here in search of a threading salon. Went to the place across the parking lot first but they had a long wait and it looked Bleh.
So I walked over to Chandni's place and was so glad! The threading area is partitioned off from the wait area. The ladies are FAST!! this makes all the difference since a good threading job should be quick and painless.
$7 for eyebrows, $3 for upper lip. What a deal. Was done in five minutes. Very satisfied and highly recommend this easy, affordable and clean place.
I've had my eyebrows waxed in nail salons before and have a few horror stories including burns and pencil thin brows.
Chandni's is a place I trust and I'll never go anywhere else.
I can honestly say that I saw a major improvement after only one treatment of Microdermabrasion. Then after a series of 4 treatments many friends and colleagues began noticing subtle changes in my appearance and started making comments like: 'You look different. Have you had any facial surgery lately ?' or 'Are you using new make-up or did you change your hair? Are you taking new vitamins ?' It feels great to hear this from friends. My self confidence has risen and I now can participate freely at social gatherings.
Chandni's Spa and Salon is one of the best indian salon I've know here. I wanted a haircut so i went to a local salon and got dis hearted and disappointed and i decided not to get hair cut here in future. But then i tried chandni and to my surprise it was too good. Shilpa knows what her clients want and provide the services to their fullest expectation. Now I recommend every body who wants a nice style and a proper cut go to chandi. You will come out with a confident and happy smile. Cheers!
Not really knowing what to expect, I walked in at the behest of the lovelies here at Yelp in order to save my face from two fuzzy caterpillars marching angrily across my forehead.
I was greeted at the door by Shilpa herself, who is the owner of the salon. Her first words to me were, "Here for an eyebrow threading?" I don't know how she ever could have guessed!
The caterpillars trembled in fear as I sat down in a comfy chair, leaned back, and was politely directed to hold my skin taut. Shilpa then made short work of the caterpillars. The whole thing took a couple of minutes.
Threading is very nice, being that it doesn't use chemicals, waxes, or anything that produces waste. It stings less than waxing, to boot. I got it done about half an hour ago as of this writing, and my eyebrows don't hurt a bit.
I've had my eyebrows shaped a few times, but, point blank, this was the best experience I've ever had. My eyebrows look great. I will be back the next time I let the caterpillars go a-marchin' again.
By the way, folks, she's considering opening on Mondays, so if you want to stop by -- do so.
I have tried many spas over the years for eyebrow shaping/ waxing, facials, and massages...NOTHING comes as close to perfection as Chandnis. The employees are so talented, the atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the prices cannot be beat. I dirve from Chapel Hill simply to receive the most wonderful care in the area. I rec all of my services w/Shilpa, but have noticed that all of the girls do a fabulous job. Undoubtedly, the best in the area!!!
I went to Chandni's for my first eyebrow threading experience. I have no idea why, but I was expecting something completely different. I think I even pictured a needle and thread. Mike says he pictured string dipped in hot wax. Either way, we were both completely wrong. There's no needle (thank God) and no wax. Just a string and some quick hand movements and 3-minutes later...wah-laa! (which is the cool person's way of writing "voila!"). My eyebrows were perfectly shaped and the area that normally shows some little hairs poking through after waxing, was 100% smooth. Another advantage over waxing...threading doesn't ruin your really cool spray tan!
Another note: Check their website for specials before you go. They put something on a really good special every month -- whether that's waxing, skin treatments, massage, or something else.
I just checked their website in preparation to make another appointment, and noticed that they have opened a new, threading-only location at Creedmoor and Millbrook in Raleigh (http://trianglebrows.com). Still only $7 for eyebrows. Can't wait to check that location out!
I have gotten my eyebrows in the past, waxed and arched with a razor. Both of those were okay at the time because I didn't know better....I heard about Chandni's and decided to try it out. The first time was mildly painful(nothing compared to waxing). Also, my eyebrows did not start to grow back until 3-4weeks later unlike when using the razor!!! I was very pleased with that. Shilpa does a GREAT job of giving me a great arch without making my eyebrows too thin, I hate that. Every since then, which has been about 3 years ago, this has been my go-to salon for my eyebrows. I even get my upper lip threaded now, it looks so clean and natural afterwards(not like the catastrophies I have seen with bleaching and shaving facial hair). I have recommended their services to family, friends, and co-workers. EVERYONE who has been are extremely pleased with the great service and friendly staff. I have never been into body waxing but I decided this past summer to try bikini waxing. I was very nervous about the pain but it was honestly not that bad. I think they use a soybean wax which is very mild. I have been multiple times after that and enjoy that service as well. I have never had any type of irritation or break out after bikini waxing. Thank you for the excellent care Meena!! Everytime I call and/or go in they know me and greet me by name. It is sooo hard to find a great, reliable service and one has been caught and bottled in Chandni's Spa and Salon. I will continue to go here as long as I live here in the triangle area. Oh yea, recently they have opened up another threading location in Raleigh. Since this is closer to where I live, I go here for my threading services. Just when I thought it couldn't get any better.......
-Thank you Chandni's staff, you all are awesome!!!!!
-Thank you Chandni's staff, you all are awesome!!!!!
In a nut shell they have helped me discover a new me which boosted my self confidence and made me look much prettier. I love this salon and will always recommend to my friends.
You were the first to give me a brazillian, a little over a year and a half ago. I have not found any one since then who has ever come close to your care and precision. You made my first experience so comfortable and you did a FANTASTIC job. I was nervous, but you did a great job making my experience as comfortable as possible and I just want to say thank you. I hope to see you again.
I've moved to Cary from Manhattan, and one of the hardest things is finding a good eyebrow threading person and hair cut salon. I tried Chandini's and was thrilled and overjoyed. They are very thorough, no-nonense, professional, simple, detail-oriented, and absolute perfectionists. They don't rush you, but make sure you make an appointment so you're not waiting long! Best of all, they take direction well - if you tell them you want to keep your eyebrows thick, they do what you want, not what they think will be best, and if something is not right, they fix it. They have an amazing sense of pride and the ambience is lively and it really does me good to walk out looking amazing. I work in film/tv a lot and when my professional make-up artists tell me what perfect brows I have, and coming from a Newyorker, I'd give Chandini's THUMBS UP ALL THE WAY!!! Unmatched and the best in the Triangle in my humble opinion!!!!!!
I was paying $35 a visit for brow grooming at another place with someone 'specially trained' to do the same--liked the results but hated the appointment waits, cancellations and constant rotation of technicians doing it--that is until I asked someone I worked with where she got HER brows done and she referred me to Chandni's. $7 will get your brows threaded (an Indian technique) in about 10 minute's time--no appointment necessary and usually no waiting time to get into the chair--the longest I've had to wait is 15 minutes. BEAUTIFULLY shaped brows in minutes--pain is comparable to waxing, I think perhaps less so. You also can get your upper lip done for $3 (although this IS much more painful) but leaves you with a baby-smooth result for weeks and no 'stubble' regrowth. Additional threading/hair removal is available for different prices, check their website. They also offer hairstyling, massage and henna tattoos but appointments are required for these. I love this place so much for how well they shape my brows that I come from 45 minutes out of town to have them done monthly--and have about 6 of my friends doing the same after trying this. www.trianglesalon.com, open Tues-Sun, phone 919-466-9099. This is a women-only salon, sorry men!
I found this place after a trip to NYC where, for the first time ever, I got my eyebrows threaded. I had never even heard of it before that trip. When I returned home I found Chandni's, the only place in the area that provides this service. The aestheticians are very skilled. I've only had a bikini wax and eyebrow threading done so far, but now that I'm on their email list I may try one of the facial specials I read about online.
